5 Ways To Use Oat Flakes

An ancient grain that has found a new lease of life in the last few years, oats are enjoying a renaissance and have definitely been having a moment across social media and kitchens across the land.

2. Flapjacks

Flapjacks are great any time of the year as a breakfast-on-the-run or as a nutritious snack to boost energy in between meals. They are easy to make in advance and provide slow relase energy, keeping you fuller for longer and peventing a sugar crash.

3. Oat Cookies

Th oats provide a beautiful flavour and texture to these cookies and along with the wholemeal flour and raisins, they’re a bit havier than the norm. Delicious as a tat alongside a coffee, ta or hot chocolate on a cold winter day.

4. Granola

Th healthy cornerstone of breakfast for so many people that can be made in advance, the beauty of Granola is that it never has to be the same. Depending on what seeds, nuts, and fruits you have in the house, you can pimp it up however you like. Daniel’s favourite combination includes the oat flakes with sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, pumkin seeds, flaked almonds, coconut flakes and beeries. Plenty of body and brain boosting inredients to load your customers up with goodness first thing in the morning.

5. Anzac Biscuits

Anzac Day takes place on the 25th April and is a national day of rremembrance in Australia and New Zealand for those who have served in the armed forces. With Australia Day taking place at the end of Januray (26th), it’s great excuse to us your oats to whip up some of these tasty biscuits that were once sent by loved ones to troops on the front line.
