Bread sauce


  1. Finely dice the onion and sweat in the butter.
  2. Add the cream, bay leaves and cloves and simmer
  3. Add the breadcrumbs and stir until thick and creamy
  4. Add a splash of water if a little too thick
  5. Season with salt and pepper and grate loads of fresh nutmeg
  6. Serve with roast poultry or game
